- 1 7oz. can of organic tomato paste
- 2 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp. onion powder
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1/4 tsp. mustard powder
- 1 tsp. Celtic sea salt
- 7 Tbsp. water
- Place all of the ingredients in a blender or use an immersion blender and blend until smooth. Or you can use a whisk to mix it all in a bowl, but the smoother you can get it - the better.
- Put in jar, squeeze bottle, or covered bowl and place in refrigerator to let flavors meld overnight or at least two hours. Simple!
HERE is another recipe I'm going to try - it will take a little bit longer to make but I bet the flavor will be good with the veggies.
We use a lot of ketchup in our family, we put it on all kinds of things and use it in recipes for meatloaf and barbecue sauces. After learning to read labels on everything, I wasn't that surprised to learn that ketchup is packed with GMO tomatoes, lots of additives, preservatives, and High Fructose Corn Syrup.
I use this recipe, and it is easy to make, plus it's really good!
I wound up adding extra water and vinegar to thin it out to our desired consistency. I think you could also add a pinch of cinnamon, cloves, all-spice, or cayenne if you want to make it sweeter or spicier.
